ATIKU/OBI PRESIDENCY - Could There Have Been A Better Combination?

With the Nigeria of today: a Nigeria that has been decimated by poor security of lives and property;
a Nigeria where terrorism has found home;  a Nigeria losing her citizens daily more than any nation in war; a Nigeria that is as never divided in regions, ethnicity, religion as ever before; a Nigeria with the worst economy in her history; a Nigeria with poor educational standard; a Nigeria with a pathetic literacy level; a Nigeria with a crisis of unemployment and youth negligence; a Nigeria with the biggest percentage of poverty amongst the citizenry in the world; a Nigeria that is fast deteriorating to an embarrassing level of hopelessness.

This Nigeria as we have it today needs, as a matter of urgency, a messiah to take over the captaincy of the big ship and steer her away from the very turbulent waters.

HE Atiku Abubakar has the required capacity. He is knowledgeable and experienced enough to know exactly what has gone wrong. He has the wisdom and the ability to fix the problems. He has the local and international pedigree to command all respects required. Though not completely in charge, the former vice president has been there before. As far back as 19 years ago, he was saddled with the gigantic task of reviving the economy by his then boss and president, Olusegun Obasanjo. The Waziri Adamawa went to his task with complete professionalism and dedication of a true patriot. Without dithering, he assembled Nigeria’s best hands, not minding from which region, ethnicity or religion and the second-in-command made an excellent job of it.

Above all, he is completely detribalized. The PDP presidential candidate is the only Nigerian politician who has solid structures in every of the 774 local government areas of Nigeria. That over 300 support groups sprang up to support his presidential bid the moment he came back to PDP is a clear testament to his wide acceptance. In this Nigeria of today, no one would have been a better choice to take over in May 29, 2019.

And his running mate? If there is an indication that Waziri meant business with his restructuring promise, it is the choice he made in his running mate. Apart from looking the way of the only zone that has not tested the topmost office of the presidency since 1983, he equally chose a man whose track record is second to none.

If the commander-in-chief would copy his former boss and put his second-in-command in charge of reviving the economy, Nigeria wouldn’t  have been placed in better hands. HE Peter Obi doesn’t only understand Nigerian and world economies, he is also a very practical man, whose secret of executive survival revolved around strict prudence and diligently cutting costs of governance. He did so in Anambra State and left a rail track of excellence in all ramifications of delivering dividends of democracy to the people.

But Obi is not only about economy. If he’s saddled with improving Education, he will be very much at home. He moved Anambra State’s pathetic 26th position he met on ground to the first position within five years and remained there until he handed over in 2014. If it is Road Infrastructure, he made Anambra State the state with the best network of roads in the country before he vacated office. If it is security, he decimated notorious kidnap gangs in his state and chased many into other states while he was governor. If it is international connection, there is no embassy in Nigeria that does not relate with the name with pleasant memories.

People believe God has decided to answer the call of Nigerians for a truly united and prosperous nation by giving them this rare combination of proven men of character and integrity. Nigerians now have the choice of accepting God’s gift or miss this seemingly last chance.

And the question remains...
If not ATIKU/OBI PRESIDENCY-could there have been a better combination ?

The answer is...
NO..!!! EMPHATICALLY
