The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) has assured shortlisted candidates in its ongoing recruitment exercise that the much-anticipated Computer-Based Test (CBT) will be conducted soon, dismissing reports suggesting that the examination has been cancelled.

Chairman of the Commission, Professor Tunji Olaopa, gave the assurance in a statement issued over the weekend, describing online claims of the CBT's cancellation as false, misleading and unfounded.

According to Olaopa, preparations for the examination are already underway, with arrangements in place pending the release of the necessary resources required to conduct the exercise.

The Commission stressed that the recruitment process remains on course and urged candidates not to be distracted by unverified information circulating on social media and other online platforms.

He called on all shortlisted applicants to remain calm and patient, assuring them that the Commission would communicate officially once the date and modalities for the CBT are finalised.

The clarification comes amid growing anxiety among applicants following reports alleging that the examination had been shelved. The FCSC reiterated its commitment to a transparent and merit-based recruitment process and advised candidates to rely solely on official channels for updates regarding the exercise.
