BANKER BAGS JAIL TERM

Former Oceanic Bank staff, Aliyu Suleiman, has been convicted to 195 years imprisonment for allegedly stealing over Twenty one Million Naira  (N21, 000,000) from Albasu Micro-finance Bank by Justice Dije Abdu Aboki of the Kano state High Court today, November 3rd 2016.

Suleiman who was first arraigned in court on September 30th, 2014, pleaded not guilty to all the allegations against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The presiding judge, Justice Aboki while delivering judgement in the charges brought against the convict, sentenced him to two years on each of the first forty four counts he was charged with and a fine of N300, 000 on each.

Suleiman who was ordered to restitute the sum of N14, 815,000 (Fourteen Million, Eight Hundred and Fifteen Thousand Naira Only) to the Albasu Community Bank or spend five more years in prison, his sentences are to run concurrently.
