TRAGEDY BEFALLS DANGOTE INDUSTRIES AS ASSALIANTS KILL SENIOR MANAGER

Dangote Industries Limited, one of the nation’s largest employers of labour, has suffered a great tragedy as a senior strategist with the company, Istifanus Bello Gurama, has been murdered.

Istifanus Gurama who was reportedly kidnapped some three weeks ago, was reportedly murdered in cold blood by unknown assailants and dumped inside a gutter where his body was discovered on Monday, December 5, 2016.

On how his body was recovered, sources stated that one of the kidnappers must have alerted a member of the public to the location of where the body was.

The slain Gurama, a Senior Strategist of the Dangote Industries Limited, was in charge of negotiations and handing ransom payment to kidnappers whenever any of the expatriates in Dangote Industries was kidnapped.

According to reports available, it was revealed that the slain Gurama had gone to negotiate and pay the ransom for the release of one of the expatriates but on getting there, the kidnappers detained him and reportedly said he was the one they were after, the source said.

Another source who is said to be a close friend to the deceased who refused to be named, said before his sad demise, Gurama showed him some of the videos of his negotiations with kidnappers.

Amina Gurama, the bereaved wife of Istifanus of 20 years, lamented her husband's death on Monday, December 5, 2016.

“Gurama was a lovely person. If he is not in the house one day, the children will be asking after him endlessly”.

“Now, I do not know what to tell the children because he is always chatting with them on social media and phone and for three weeks since his disappearance, they have been wondering where he was because all his activities on social media ceased and the children have observed that it is quite unlike him”.

Meanwhile, many staffers of the Dangote Industries Limited who heard of Gurama’s murder have however reacted with surprise.
