SOUTHERN KADUNA: FOUNDATION STONE FOR ARMY BARRACKS DESTROYED

EL-RUFAI AND BURATAI LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE

Individuals and groups, including the Kaduna state Governor, have condemned in strong terms, the destruction of the foundation laying structure of the proposed Army battalion in the Kafanchan area of Southern Kaduna.

Only last week, the state governor, Mallam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai, in company of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Yusuf Buratai had laid the foundation stone for the construction of an army barracks aimed at providing a lasting security solution to the perennial crises that had engulfed to Southern Kaduna for several decades now.

THE FOUNDATION STONE

Also joined in the condemnation of the act is the Southern Kaduna Concerned Youth, SOKACOY which has described the development as a major setback to the peace restoration agenda in Southern Kaduna, by enemies of troubled zone of Southern Kaduna.

According to Adamu Barde Kagarko, Coordinator of the group during a press conference stated that; ”as concerned citizens of Southern Kaduna, we commiserate with the victims of any of the attacks and we pray that God will heal every family that has lost a loved one or any property in those acts of wickedness by man to man”. 

THE DESTROYED STONE

The group Coordinator prayed for the good Lord to bring everlasting peace to the region which had witnessed hard times following the perennial attacks.

“Our attention has also been drawn to the wicked act that was perpetrated by our enemies who have destroyed the Foundation of the Military Base that was laid by the Executive Governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai and the Chief of Army Staff”.

Condemning the act in its totality, Adamu Kagarko prayed to God for the security agencies to bring to book, the perpetrators describing it as sad following the frantic efforts of government to secure the region.

According to the SOKACAY Coordinator, “some enemies of the state from within the region are responsible for these unwholesome acts which for, whatever reasons, is best known to them”.

The foundation stone was laid last week by Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai and Governor El-Rufai for the establishment of the battalion at Ungwan Yashi area of Zangon Kataf Local Government as a response to the incessant killings occurring in Southern Kaduna since 1980.
