ORDER CONTRACTORS TO SITE.....OGBORU URGES NEW NDDC BOARD

By Prince Akpojotor Agaga
GREAT OGBORU
Moved by the pains and groaning of the good people of Delta State due to bad roads, dilapidated infrastructures and a complete abandonment of government projects across the State and the entire Niger-Delta region, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru "The People's General" as fondly called by Deltans across the State, has decidedly, called on the newly inaugurated Board of the NDDC to as a matter of urgency call on all the contractors who had been mobilized by the Commission during the previous administration, who either did not mobilize to site at all, or abandoned the project midway, to immediately return to site.

According to the People's General, if this is done, it will be another proof of the Buhari/APC government's sincere intention of changing the fortunes of the Niger Delta Region and Delta State in particular, stressing the fact that, in as much as the NDDC is an intervention Agency created by the federal government to reduce the effect of its developmental responsibilities at the center, the commission must be seen to be carrying out its responsibility to the latter, as it was generally believed that the creation of the NDDC was the beginning of developmental revolution  in the Niger Delta Region.

But ironically its purpose of creation was defeated the moment politician started seeing the Commission as another heaven for easy siphoning of our common wealth.

Olorogun Great Ovedje Ogboru expressed great surprise at the level of nonchalance being exhibited by the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa/PDP led administration toward the plight and sufferings of the people of Delta State, wondering why the deliberate refusal to question the reason behind the numerous neglect on all the major projects within the state, which as expected, would have been an added advantage and of a great value to the developmental strides of the administration.

“Well, what could be expected of a visionless administration other than packages of disappointments? Chief Ogboru queried.

Today, Delta State is one of the states with the highest number of abandoned projects by the state government and other Federal Govt Agencies like the NDDC. The level of infrastructural decays and dilapidation our dear state is suffering today, is not what one wants to talk about, because, it sickens the heart. The painful part of this whole mess is that, our dear governor seems not to care about it. I guess he does not realize that it is a display of ineptitude on his part, for not working in harmony with the Board of NDDC purposefully to establish a perfect synergy.

With the Industrialization and Social-infrastructural Development of Delta State being part of his 5-Point Agenda to revitalize, rejuvenate and revolutionize Delta State, Olorogun Ovedje Ogboru advised the Okowa/PDP led administration to focus on infrastructural revolution of the state as that would revamp the economy and in turn, spur a rapid industrial growth. He also advised the Delta State Government to set up a special committee to be headed by a Special Senior Assistant to the Governor, to liaise with Federal Agencies like the NDDC for ease of operations and even development across the State.

To this end the People's General called on all Deltans to embrace peace as this is the bedrock of development in any society while also using the opportunity to advise the good people of Delta State on the need and importance of synergy between the federal government and the state government.

“When you have a state that is not under the ruling party, there is always a break in operation; no synergy, thus, good development is hindered”. As a people, in 2019 we must ensure we align our great state with the federal government to ensure proper synergy and even development. We need to feel the federal presence in our state.

Finally, as a result of his trust and belief in the sense of the good judgment and integrity of the caliber of people on the Board and management team of the NDDC, Olorogun Great Ovedje Ogboru demands on behalf of the good people of Delta State, that an immediate action be taken by the Board of the NDDC to order all the affected contractors to immediately mobilize to site, upon which failure of any Contractor to do so, such Contractor(s) should be handed over to the EFCC for prosecution.

OLOROGUN OVEDJE OGBORU a man endowed with wisdom and knowledge, a man burning with passion for his people, driven by inspiration and vision to restore the lost glory Delta State.
