With the release of the electoral dates for 2019 by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC the political space especially in Delta state, South-south of Nigeria, political juggernauts have begun to warm up in preparation for the contest.

In the All Progressive Congress, APC which is in the opposition at the state level in Delta, there seems to be a contest of the heavyweights for who becomes the official flag-bearer for the party.

The realignment of forces to wrest power from the PDP which has been in control of the state since the inception of democratic rule in 1999, had seen the “Peoples General”; Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, a seasoned and tested politician moving over to the APC to join in the quest to take control of the affairs of political leadership with other notable names in the political permutations.
Ogboru, a man of political renown and sagacity, has been in the political fray since 1999 but certain powers that be, obviously out of fear for his genuine quest to provide true and qualitative dividends to his people, has been repeatedly schemed out, using manipulative electoral means and denying the “Peoples General” the opportunity to serve his people.
Since joining the APC, Chief Ogboru has begun his reaching out and sensitization of the people, on the need to remove; politically, the PDP from the seat of power for collective good of the good people of the state so that they too, can “enjoy the benefits of a qualitative and sustainable leadership devoid of intimidation, harassment and selective development”.
Speaking with NAIJ NEWS ALERT, Prince Akpojotor Christopher Agaga, the Principal Secretary to Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru noted that the strengths of his principal “lies in the people of Delta state as not only has Ogboru shown his sincere and genuine intentions to provide qualitative leadership, away from the strangulating clutches of the PDP, it is well known that the “Peoples General” will provide an all embracing opportunity for the people to become emancipated from the impunity, greed, selfish and manipulative vices that have become the norm, these past 18years of the PDP misrule in Delta state”.
“An Ogboru candidacy”, according to Prince Akpojotor, “on the platform of the APC in the next gubernatorial elections is a sure bet for the people to gain their political freedom from the strangulating vice and hold of the PDP despite the huge and enormous resources available to the state in the past 18 years from the federation account not including internally generated revenues from oil firms and other sources”.
“Olorogun Great Ovedje Ogboru; “the People’s General” is a man with focus, quality vision and primed for restoring Delta state to its glory”, Agaga emphasized.
