UDUAGHAN, OKOWA UNITE TO SYNERGIZE AHEAD OF 2019
The immediate past Governor of Delta state, His Excellency, Emmanuel Iweta Uduaghan has debunked rumours of his purported decampment from the People's Democratic Party, PDP
The former Governor of Delta State made this known in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity, Sunny Areh recently.
According to the statement, Dr. Uduaghan said that he did not at any material time defected and not contemplating defecting from his great party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), not anytime soon, not before or after 2019 general elections.
The former Governor assured that he remains dedicated and loyal member of PDP, Ibori Political Dynasty (IPD) and as such, the leadership crisis within the party at the national level is too insignificant to melt away the strongly embedded democratic principles and politcal ideologies of his great party, the PDP.
Reacting to the spurious allegations trending on social media, Areh quoted H.E. Uduaghan as saying; "I am currently on a low profile lifestyle and it is important that we give the incumbent Governor, His Excellency, Senator (Dr) Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, enough room, massive support and encouragement to deliver dividend of democracy to our people from now till May 29, 2023".
Uduaghan further asserted that the fake and mischievous news of his defection is traceable to the handiwork of busy body elements within the APC rank and file, trying to use his name and political pedigree to unjustly and criminally promote their selfish politcal interests and vain popularity.
The former Delta state Governor also reaffimed his total support for Gov Okowa's administration and commended the Governor for his numerous enviable achievements and good governance in less than two years in office, adding that his membership of PDP is intact and flourishing.
Dr. Uduaghan disclosed that his personal and politcal partnership with Gov. Okowa is producing substantial results in terms of excellent personal relationship, trust, mutual respect and joint commitment towards the success of the SMART AGENDA and PROSPERITY FOR ALL DELTANS visions of the state governor.
"Those pendling falsehood and fake news about the person and political career of former Governor Uduaghan are strongly advised to desist from misinformation or else face prosecution without further notice", the statement added.
