BURATAI COMMISSIONS ARMY BASE IN DAURA; Names it After President Buhari

The Nigerian Army has established an Army Base in Daura, home of the Commanfer-In-Chief of the Nigerian Armed Forces and President Muhammadu Buhari.

Commissioning the Fort Muhammadu Buhari Forward Operation Base, Daura, Katsina state,
named after President Buhari, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Tukur Yusufu Buratai, on Friday said the aim "is to further enhance security in parts of 1 Division Nigerian Army's area of responsibility".

According to the Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier-General Sani Kukasheka Usman in a statement, "the establishment of the new unit was part of the implementation of the Nigerian Army approved Order of Battle 2016 (ORBAT 2016) by the Army Council".

Brig-General Usman disclosed that prior to commissioning the new army unit, the COAS was at the Palace of His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr) Umar Faruk Umar, the Emir of Daura for a courtesy call.
