MAKARFI CALLS FOR PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING AMONG KADUNA RESIDENTS; Condemns Outbreak of Violence in Kasuwan Magaini

Former Governor of Kaduna state and immediate past Chairman of the National Caretaker Committeee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi has condemned the recent outbreak of violence which occurred Kasuwan Magaini, in the Southern axis of the state.



 The former governor and chieftain of the PDP in a statement issued by his Spokesman, Alhaji Mukhtar Zubairu Sirajo disclosed that, "Senator Makari is saddened by the news of the recent eruption of violence and attendant losses of lives and property in Kasuwan Magani of Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State".

Senator Makarfi, a man of peace and tolerance believes that "even though misunderstandings and disagreements are normal in any human society, resort to violence cannot be justified in any way".

"As Human beings, and believers in our two major religions, i.e. Islam and Christianity, both of which have peace and good neighbourliness as part of their creeds, we have no reason whatsoever to descend to bestiality citing reasons of religion or ethnicity, because even our various ethnic groups have historically been known to live peacefully with one another".

He advised the citizens to "imbibe lessons as taught by the Holy Books as well as our age-old traditions of accommodation that held our fabrics in the past, even as we bear in mind, that progress and development, which we all yearn for, cannot be attained in an atmosphere of hostility and suspicion".

Senator Makarfi condoled Government and people of Kaduna State over this unfortunate incident and reiterate his appeal for all to embrace peace for the benefit of all.
