FARAH DAGOGO EXCLUDES SELF FROM BUHARI'S ENDORSEMENT: SAYS HE IS NOT A PARTY TO IT

"I Am Not A Party To The Purported Endorsement of Buhari" - Farah Dagogo

"The whole idea of the publication is a failed on delivery cheap blackmail. It was the belief of the authors and sponsors of the sensational publication that if my name was included, it would attract public sympathy for President Muhammadu Buhari owing to my popularity and the unfailing love the people of the Niger Delta have for me as a shinning light among the youths".... Dagogo.

Following reports in some online platforms which trended earlier today that, prominent PDP chieftain in Degema, Rivers state, Hon. Farah Dagogo and some other sons of the oil rich state had endorsed the APC presidential Candidate, has issued a rebuttal.

In a statement issued earlier this evening, Dr. Dagogo emphatically stated that he is not a party to such an endorsement.

According to the statement, a copy which was made available to Naij News Alert, he said:

"The attention of Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency election has been drawn to a news report in an online news medium, PREMIUM TIMES, that he was among some persons from the Niger Delta Region who purportedly endorsed the relection bid of President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC".

"In other to set the records straight and disabuse all right thinking minds who might have been swayed or confused by the totally untrue publication, I wish to state the followings".

"I am a card carrying and committed member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. As an astute and grounded politician, my support and dedication are geared towards ensuring the total victory of all PDP candidates including our Presidential candidate, Alh. Atiku Abubakar, Rivers State Governor, Chief (Barr). Nyesom Wike, among others".

"The whole idea of the publication is a failed on delivery cheap blackmail. It was the belief of the authors and sponsors of the sensational publication that if my name was included, it would attract public sympathy for President Muhammadu Buhari owing to my popularity and the unfailing love the people of the Niger Delta have for me as a shinning light among the youths".

"The authors of the said publications and their sponsors are political jobbers who are determined to cash on the impending defeat of the President at this Saturday's Presidential and National Assembly elections by swindling monies from him and his party under the guise of endorsement. My advise to Mr. President and his party is that Niger Delta, especially, Rivers State is PDP, and he should not allow himself to be deceived that any other party, particularly, the APC can win in this region".

"To my teeming supporters and followers, I urge us to remain resolute as the day of reckoning draws nearer, the All Progressives Congress, APC, are very jittery as their looming defeat is starring them in the face and have therefore resolved to engage in different underhand tactics. Recall that a few days ago, the Governor of Rivers State was bizarrely accused of negotiating with the President, who is the candidate of the APC, to secure his (Wike) second term. Such is their level of desperation and they do not care whose names are mentioned provided it would get attention and their palms greased".

"Lastly, I would appeal to our media practioners to imbibe the ethos of their noble profession which explicitly require cross checking and hearing from all parties involved before publication. That differentiate the professionals from the charlatans that are now dominant online".

Many stakeholders have expressed their dissatisfaction over the poor style of the government in dragging names of innocent persons in the mud and maligning their hard earned reputation for filthy lucre. They described the said publication as unfortunate and retrogressive.
