OPINION: "HARUNA SAE'ED KAJURU; THE MAN BEST SUITED FOR SIR KASHIM IBRAHIM HOUSE, KADUNA".... ISHAKU DOGO
"Haruna Sa’eed Kajuru A Child Of Necessity;
A tale of why he has not been supported by the opinion leaders from the
Northern part of Kaduna State in his several attempts to be the governor of the State, despite his rich credentials, credibility, personality, wealth of experience both in private and public sectors, political value, moral
background, and religion affiliation. Come with me, as we digest the man
called, Haruna Sa’eed Kajuru.
His Excellency, Mallam Haruna Sa’eed Kajuru was born in Kajuru town a suburb of Kaduna state on the 2nd February 1960 into the family of late Yunusa Sa’eed Kajuru.
He had his early education at LEA Primary School Kajuru and later proceeded to Katsina Teachers College where he obtained his Grade II Certificate in 1977.
Again, in his quest to quench his thirst for education, he further proceeded to the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and was found worthy of character and
learning and thus, obtained a Bachelor Degree in Accounting in 1983.
Still not satisfied, he proceeded for his M.Sc in the same University and finished in 1987 where he specialized in Accounting and Finance.
He is currently, a Ph.D. student in the same institution. Also, he is a Certified Professional Accountant and holds several Certificates to his honour, both at home and abroad.
He has written so many publications and a member of different professional bodies.
He has been a primary school teacher, Secondary school teacher, a University Lecturer, a Bank Manager, a General Manager at Investment House, Kaduna, an Accountant General of Kaduna state for eleven (11) years and the pioneer Executive Secretary of Nigeria Extractive Industries
Transparency Initiative (NEITI).
His political life started in 2006 when he contested for Governor in the primaries of PDP which he lost gallantly to Namadi Sambo.
It is quite unfortunate that many times we attempt to go with an old saying that "he that is slow, may the devil take his head".
But, for how longdo we go by this saying?
Whenever we present a candidate whether a Christian or a minority Muslim from the Southern part of Kaduna, no matter how good the person is, the opinion leaders of the northern part hardly supports such a candidature, instead they will prefer to support a jejune or even the worst candidate, as long as he is a Muslim from the Northern part of the state.
A case scenario that is about playing out.
Beyond any doubt and without any wishy-washy, we can all attest to the fact that; Mallam Haruna Sa’eed Kajuru is the most credible candidate at the moment compared to the other two candidates in APC and PDP.
This is true, not minding whatever
parameters one will like to use to assess the tripartite.
Therefore, for our state to grow beyond the current state of nothingness, there must be a paradigm shift in our stereotype mindset by shifting our goal post from the level of mediocrity and middleness to one of credibility and prowess in choosing who leads us in the state to make Kaduna real
great again.
The above aforementioned has been a yardstick used in many times to dent and deny Mallam Haruna Sa’eed Kajuru from being a Governor since 2006 till date.
In this regard, for the benefit of clarity and precision, in 2006, his closet ally, Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi betrayed him and refused to support his candidature and supported erstwhile former Vice President Namadi Sambo, a Kaduna immigrant from Auchi, Edo State just because he is a
resident Muslim in Zaria.
This is a reality that most of us don’t know or may know but have chosen to shy away from it for self-aggrandizement. We either change the tide this time around, or we live with it, and our generation pays dearly for it.
Makarfi’s sudden love for Namadi Sambo in 2006 was factored into a geographical setting because, he had no reason whatsoever to despise his longtime friend for another person. With one little X-ray analysis of the duo, one will discover they are all Muslims and thus, made his action uncalled for.
But, why did Makarfi prefer Namadi to Sa’eed, his long-standing friend? The bitter truth must be told, and it is not far from it that, Haruna Sa’eed is from the Southern part of Kaduna.
Makarfi is now at it again, and we must stand up to resist his primordial antics and demand him to support the most credible candidate, irrespective of his party affiliation, ethnicity and, geographical setting if truly he loves Southern Kaduna and the state at large.
Another flimsy excuse attached to Haruna Sa’eed is the issue of money.
This is because, I have heard people on different occasions saying that Mallam Haruna Sa’eed Kajuru is the most credible candidate but he has no financial muscles to wrestle power from the hands of the incumbent and his PDP counterpart. The question then is; "Have we sacrificed credibility and finesse on the alter of ill-gotten wealth?
"When do we expect to have the kind of Li Quan Yu who can develop our state irrespective of their tribe and religion?
While I believe our thinking must be changed if we must get it right this time
around, we saw what happened in 2015 when President Buhari became President through the money realized from the purchase of cards by Nigerians from Buhari Support Organization.
Therefore, we can also do same for Haruna Sa’eed Kajuru to ensure Kaduna is safe from the hands of accidental politicians, political entrepreneurs, dictators, people with corrupt tendencies, mediocre and
money bags politicians who are ready to buy the future at all cost.
As a people, I believe we can’t afford to get it wrong this time around and thus, it is imperative that all hands must be on deck to ensure the right candidate is elected come 2019, to forestall bad people from mortgaging the future of our generation.
And, I end on this note, with a biblical quote, that says; Oh ye foolish
Galatians, who have bewitched you? Galatians 3:1. May we never be
bewitched anymore. amen!
Thank you for your time
