Director General of Delta Central Senatorial District Campaign Council of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Emmanuel Ighomena, has appealed to all eligible voters in Urhobo Nation to vote massively for PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Hon Evelyn Oboro for Senate; and other PDP candidates come Saturday 23rd February, 2019.

Ighomena in a statement by the Media and Publicity Secretary of the Council, Barrister Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, noted that the many failures of the APC national government; especially poor performance in socioeconomic policies and programmes for which Urhobo Nation remain short changed, is one of the major reasons why the good people of Delta Central resolved to vote for the former Vice President and 2019 PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

He also cited severe insecurity problems, escalated poverty and mismanagement of the nation's financial resources as multifaceted bane of President Muhammadu Buhari led administration, which prompted full scale system and leadership breakdown in the past three years and eight months and still counting.

Ighomena predicted the crash of APC and President Buhari at the polls come Saturday, adding that Buhari and his party failed to fulfill promises made to Nigerians during the 2015 presidential campaign; as can be seen in the increase of pump price of patrol from N97 in 2015 to N145 instead of reduction in pump price per little.

Other sins of the Buhari administration, according to Ighomena, included; embarrassing hike in foreign exchange rate from N164 to U.S. dollar in 2015 to N450 to the dollar immediately Buhari assumed office, failure to address the consistent insecurity in the country and his large appetite for lopsided federal appointments as well as concentration of Hausa-Fulani kinsmen in top military commands, Service Chiefs and in all top security positions in the country.

He said the height of President Buhari's ethnic politics and tribal bigotry in the management of the nation's affairs has created a wide lacuna in the polity as well as religious sentiments; as can be seen from the poor handling of criminal activities of some Fulani Herdsmen in the South-South geopolitical zone; and other parts of the country.

He therefore urged eligible voters to Vote  Atiku for President on Saturday February 23rd, 2019, adding that things can only turn around for the better with Atkins-Obi at the helm of the nation's affairs as President and Vice President.

In the same vein, the Delta Central PDP Chieftain urged eligible voters in Urhobo Nation to cast their votes for PDP candidate, Hon Evelyn Oboro, describing her as a political diva with a heart of gold, noting that Oboro has been able to prove her leadership skills as worthy representative of the people; through excellent legislative advocacy, empowerment of constituents and impactful legislative advocacy as member representing Uvwie, Sapele and Okpe federal constituency at the National Assembly.

"Urhobo Nation regrets the unwarranted radical posture and misrepresentation by Senator Ovie Omo Agege in the Senate. His suspension for a whopping 180 days remains a big blow to Delta Central and we cannot forget in a hurry his arrogant and disrespect for the Senate leadership. He remains a major disappointment and shall subsequently be voted out on Saturday.

"We are by this statement urging our people in Delta Central to vote Atiku for President, Oboro for Senate as well as other PDP candidates across board at the polls on Saturday.

"The National Leader of  Urhobo Nation political family, His Excellency Chief James Ibori, has directed that all eligible voters in Delta Central Senatorial District and by extension Delta State; should vote for PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, so as to achieve our collective dream of resource control through the PDP Atiku restructuring plan for Nigeria.

"It is the view of Leader Ibori, that Urhobo Nation shall reclaim her pride of place as the most populous ethnic nationality in Delta State; by voting massively for all PDP candidates across board next Saturday and on March 9, 2019.

"In the light of the above, it is absolutely imperative for Atiku to emerge as President elect, Oboro as Delta Central Senator elect on Saturday, in final preparation for the landslide victory of the incumbent governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa on March 9, 2019.

"Chief Great Ogboru of the APC has no integrity and leadership history. He is a debtor-fish-seller who cannot be trusted with the affairs of our dear state. We must be weary of his aggressive and violent approach towards 2019 governorship election in the state.

PDP shall sustain issues  based campaign irrespective of the ongoing harassment and intimidation by the opposition APC in the state.

"Gov Okowa's track records as a seasoned democrat, public administrator, medical practitioner, distinguished senator and former Secretary to Delta State Government takes him thousands of miles away from the mediocre politician, Chief Great Ogboru of APC.

The Smart Governor is a promise keeper. His vision of a prosperous and Stronger Delta that guarantees Better Days ahead is what Deltans are yearning for and Saturday March 9, is D-Day for his re-election," the statement added.
