COVID-19 CURFEW: DUTSINMA TASKS NSCDC PERSONNEL ON PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT.

As the lockdown on COVID-19 continues in Kaduna state, the Kaduna state Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Babangida Abdullahi Dutsinma has directed officers and men of the command to exercise restraint and discharge their duties professionally.

This admonition follows on the heels of the expiration of free hours declared on Wednesday and Thursday this week for residents of the state to enable them stock food items.

The Commandant who gave the directive while addressing Head of Departments, Units, Area Commanders and Divisional Officers at the state headquarters, explained that as security agents, they must ensure full compliance with the order on restriction of movements without necessarily violating human rights.

CPRO on behalf of the Commandant, Dutsinma warned that he will not condone inefficiency from the Command in enforcing the order with exception of essential service providers.

He noted that a high level of professionalism, devoid of misconduct should be maintained in carrying out the assignment.

The state Commandant implored members of the public to cooperate with security agencies by voluntarily obeying government’s order, noting with optimism that the world will overcome the pandemic especially with efforts being made.

He cautioned against violation of social distancing directive by some individuals who still patronize recreational facilities especially in suburbs, adding that the command is determined to end such violation.

On the temporary stoppage of congregational prayers for both Muslim and Christian faithful, the state NSCDC helmsman advised that the status be maintained pending the control of the pandemic.

Dutsinma who has carried out visits to Area Commands in the state, expressed his desire to continue with the exercise till the end of the novel corona virus which has been declared by World Health Organisation as pandemic.
