The Kaduna state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC has called on Christians in the state to render prayers and supplications as panacea in tackling security threats and COVID-19 pandemic, they mark the Spiritual feast of Easter.

The State Commandant of NSCDC in Kaduna, Babangida Abdullahi Dutsinma, stated this while felicitating with Christians in the state on the successful completion of Lent and Easter, as he urged them to thank God for the peace and stability in the country.

Dutsinma, in a statement signed by the CPRO, ASC Orndiir Terzungwe, called on Kaduna residents to use this period of lockdown occasioned by COVID-19 to pray for the end of coronavirus and security threats such as terrorism, insurgency, kidnapping and banditry.

The state NSCDC helmsman admonished both Christian and Islamic religious leaders with their followers to reflect on the pandemic as he called for intensive prayers and change in attitude.

On the lockdown, the Commandant called for people to obey restriction of movement and maintain social distancing as measures of preventing infection of coronavirus.

“We appeal to everyone to remain law abiding, we will not hesitate to sanction anyone who violates the law”, Dutsinma warned.

Continuing, he stressed that operatives in Special Response Unit, Agro Rangers, Anti-vandal units, Operations Yaki and those on routine surveillance have been directed take necessary actions to contain any act of lawlessness.

On the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure, “we call on members of the public to report any suspected case of vandalism before, during and after Easter”.
