DELTA 2023: FORMER EDUCATION MINISTER, KENNETH GBAGI DECLARES INTEREST

A former Education Minister and front line
contender for the office of Governor, come 2023 in Delta state, Olorogun
Kenneth Gbagi, has come forth to make public, his intention to seek the ticket
of his party.
Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi, a staunch chieftain of
the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP while addressing journalists at his country
home in Oginibo, Ughelli South Local Government Area called on all Deltans
desirous of a well-developed and greater Delta state, to join him in transforming
the state by supporting his candidature.
The former Education Minister while
fielding questions stated that his declaration to run for the office of governor
is not too early even as he revealed that his dream of becoming Governor dates
back to almost twenty years.
On which political platform he hopes
to actualize his aspiration, Olorogun Gbagi stressed that he would contest on
the platform of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the state.
”I know what to do. In one year, you
will see industries coming into this state”, he stated.
Gbagi promised to remove a good
number of unemployed citizens from the streets noting that it is not too early
for him to start.
“I have started the race and I am
doing well. There is nothing wrong in me doing consultation now”, he said.
Asked to comment on the performance of
the incumbent Governor, Gbagi said Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has done well and would
finish strong in the state.
On the former governor of Delta State, Chief
James Ibori, the 2023 Governorship aspirant stressed that, Olorogun James Onanefe
Ibori “knows very well that I (Gbagi) am after the heart, progress, greatness and
how the state can be better”.
“I do not see anything Ibori has done that is
wrong as opposed to what the people say. It is a matter of choice, character
and upbringing. I am saying categorically that I don’t see any issue with Ibori
at all”, he stated.
Maintaining that he has the midas touch to
transform Delta if elected as the governor in 2023, Kenneth Gbagi declared; “I
am the most single individual that has thought of using my personal wealth,
experience and progress to better the lots of Deltans by way of engagement”.

“It is my burning desire to serve in 2023 and I
believe that I have a lot to do. I have paid my dues in politics”, he said.
On what is his advice to Deltans, the highly
respected leader and philanthropist said; “My advice to Deltans is that, if you
