OPINION: ISOPADEC'S INDISPENSABLE TRANSFORMATION; OPIAH'S ONLY INTEREST... By Charles Ogbonna

Rt. Hon Goodluck Nana Opiah does not need much introduction to anyone who's familiar with the Imo political terrain especially that of the two sister oil producing LGAs of the state as he has on several occasions written his name in gold.

He's unarguably the Apex leader of the oil region of Imo state, a position he attained not by mere wishes but through hardwork and strong commitment towards delivering mouthwatering service to his people.

To him, this has remained a Godly project which he has kept faith with for close to two decades.

It's also not a hidden fact that Rt. Hon Opiah is a close friend and trusted political ally of the seating Imo Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma hence, his appointment as SA to the Governor and Coordinator for Oil and Gas Matters in Imo state.

From the inception of the shared prosperity administration, Rt Hon Opiah has been seen working round the clock towards ensuring that his people get all the deliverables from a Godsent government he contributed immensely to bring into existence. To him, one sure way of achieving this is by ensuring that all existing public oriented and government managed developmental platforms within the region are brought back to life.

One of such platforms is ISOPADEC. Suffice it to say therefore that Rt. Hon Opiah has obviously gone past the pedestrian stage of responding to rants or adult cries if you like especially from unrelenting and unrepentant proponents of the fatally failed rebuild Imo and rescue mission opposition groups who were so determined to keep the people of the region in abject poverty. He's now very focused on providing solid leadership for the wonderful people of the region like he has always done.

My happiness at this stage is; at least we are discussing ISOPADEC. If I may ask, if Opiah hadn't fought doggedly and patriotically to create the commission, what would his people be discussing now??

There is no gain saying that Opiah has always displayed uncommon capacity and competence all through his holy surgeon in Politics cum public service. He brought FG's Amnesty Program to our youths, created ISOPADEC, converted Umuagwo School of Agric to Imo Polytechnic, built an expansive skill acquisition center at Anaezi Egbema which he had already taken steps to transform into a tertiary institution etc. I hereby urge everyone to seat back and patiently watch him transform the oil sector of the state in his usual nature of turning whatever he torches into gold. Already, under Opiah's stewardship, Imo state government is on the verge of floating a viable oil exploration company. The details of which I will not disclose here and now for obvious reasons. I don't think anyone is in doubt of the numerous benefits such oil exploration company will avail the people of the oil region when it finally comes into operation.

Meanwhile, talking about the current ISOPADEC imbroglio, let me once again state indisputably without any fear or favour that ISOPADEC derailed dangerously and most unfortunately from its core mandate in the past 10years. It's almost a concensus opinion cum agreement that the major purpose for the establishment of the interventionist agency was completely abandoned as well as defeated by the managers of the commission within the said period.

Having said this, I dare ask, does anyone honestly suggest the present administration had continued along such unholy trajectory to the utter disservice to the greater majority of the oil people?? God forbid!

To this extent, I wish to categorically state that ISOPADEC is currently undergoing an unavoidable total overhaul. I am talking about the type of transformation that will see the commission perform maximally for the benefit and betterment of the entire people of the oil region. This is particularly Rt. Hon Opiah's only interest with respect to the operations of ISOPADEC. He's certainly neither after any undue financial gains or Politically motivated vain glory!

The truth is; all current contending issues bedeviling ISOPADEC will be soundly resolved very shortly. The process is already at a very advanced stage.

At this point it must also be clearly stated that the undue emphasis on ISOPADEC staff salary is highly misplaced as the commission was never created just to pay salaries. Moreso considering the fact that ISOPADEC staff strength consists of less than 0.5% of the population of the oil region.

Let it be known this day that ISOPADEC shall certainly rise again and fulfill destinies.

Rt Hon Goodluck Nana Opiah is very much on top of the situation. The same zeal with which he created the commission, he has already unleashed towards repositioning it for the betterment of all.
