BENUE LEGISLATOR ESTABLISHES SPORTS ACADEMY... Sets To Focus On Youth Empowerment

The member Representing Agatu in the Benue state House of Assembly, Hon. Godwin Edoh has put up a sport academy to identify talents in his constituency that would be groomed in sporting activities.

Edoh, who disclosed to newsmen in Makurdi on Friday, said the focus of the sport academy is part of his programmes to get youths off the street to reduce social vices and actively engage them.

Edoh who is also the Deputy Majority leader in the House, told newsmen that he contacted former Ex international of the BCC Lions FC, Gboko and ex-Super Eagles star player, Moses Kpako to pick the best from 216 players  which will be streamlined to 40 out of which the best 25 would be selected for future opportunities.

The state lawmaker expressed interest human capital development saying there is huge opportunities in sport which when properly harnessed can turn the fortunes of the teaming youth population.
