BREAKING: GBAJABIAMILA'S SECURITY DETAIL ALLEGEDLY GUNS DOWN NEWSPAPER VENDOR IN ABUJA

A newspaper vendor at the Federal Secretariat in the nation's capital, Abuja had been reportedly shot dead, following a gunshot wound to his head, allegedly fired off the firearm of the police aide to the Honourable Speaker, House of Representatives.

According to a statement from the Abuja chairman of the Vendors Union, Comrade Etim Iwara, the unfortunate incident occurred around 5pm at the Federal Secretariat, Abuja when the nation's #4 citizen stopped at the vendors stand.

The deceased, Mr Ifeanyichukwu Okereke, a newspaper vendor was shot allegedly in the head at close range by one of the police aides in the convoy of  the Speaker of the House of representative.

According to information reaching this platform by one of the eyewitnesses, the ugly incident happened after the Speaker had stopped and attended to the vendors with gifts gesture in cash .

"Soon afterwards, the security came down and shot him (Ifeanyichukwu Okereke) at close and this happened while the vendors where selling their wares) the source stated.

Colleagues of the vendor rushed him to an undisclosed hospital but unfortunately, he did not survive the wound.

Efforts to reach the Speaker or his office failed as at the time of filling in this report.
