GUNMEN ATTACK AMBULANCE, ABDUCT ONE IN EDO STATE

Yet to be identified gunmen have reportedly, waylaid an ambulance conveying the remains of an Indigene of Enugu state home for final interment, penultimate week.

The unfortunate incident occurred in Edo state while the corpse was enroute  from Lagos to Enugu.

Available reports also reveal that the gunmen have reportedly abducted the younger brother of the deceased.

The remains of the deceased who died in Lagos was being conveyed in an ambulance from Lagos State to Enugu for the burial rites before the incident occurred. 

According to reports, the gunmen were said to have opened fire on the ambulance before taking away the deceased’s brother who was sitting in the ambulance.

Available information have further revealed that the kidnappers are demanding N5 million ransom, according to the family.

The incident has disrupted the final rites for the deceased as the body was said to be have been kept in a mortuary in Auchi, Benin road.
