AGGRIEVED PDP GROUP TAKE PROTEST TO ETHIOPE WEST COUNCIL BOSS.... Says Political Appointments In Mosogar, Lopsided

A political pressure group under the auspices of Oyovwire Political Forum, on Monday stormed the office of the newly elected Chairman of Ethiope west LGA Chairman Hon Owoso Oghenedoro to protest  what they called, the lopsided political appointments in Mosogar.

The group which maintained that their visit to Owoso was a follow up to their earlier letter of Appeal/protest to the office of the council chairman, State PDP Chairman and other relevant government functionaries in the state, was the beginning of a new dawn in Mosogar

 The group, in a statement released by its Media Adviser, Comrade Monday Odaka, described the protest on Monday, 22nd march 2021 as a wake up call on our political leaders in Ethiope west to intervene urgently on the lopsided political appointments making the rounds in Mosogar, with the view to timely address the issue in order not to degenerate into unrest. 

 

The group leaders expressed confidence in the ability of the Chairman to treat their complaint being a God fearing chairman, Ugbune stated.

The OPF group which rejected every antics that is being implored to skew all viable political positions coming to Mosogar to only one political block appealing to the party hierarchy to look into the disparity.. 

Reiterating that since the four blocks in Mosogar which includes, Ugbokpa, Okuokpokpor, Ugbakele and Mosogar Central blocks, are contributors to the party growth in Mosogar, all political positions coming to Mosogar, ought to be well spread round these four blocks in the interest of equity and fairness. But rather, all the juicy positions are being skewed to only Ugbokpa block, the group insisted.

OPF leaders who spoke, frowned at the practice whereby positions where being rotated amongst cronies and relatives for selfish interest in Mosogar and vowed not to relent in doing everything possible to stop the ugly trend by reaching out to all PDP leaders in the Local government vis a vis  Delta State to appeal to them to come to their help by eliminating such practice in Mosogar.

Speaking further, Hon Wellington Oyibo Jp, Engr Mathew Ugbune, Comrade Monday Odaka and Mr Gilbert Adogho, pointed out to the chairman of EWLG council that all is not well in Mosogar, particularly as it pertains to the sharing of the dividends of Democracy.

They appealed to the Council boss and EWLG leaders, to come to their aid in the interest of equity, fairness and justice while crying out that all the juicy political positions coming to Mosogar are residual in one block and shared amongst cronies and relatives for personal interest, at the detriments of other political blocks in Mosogar.

Speaking earlier, Oyibo, Odaka, Ugbune and Adogho appealed to the chairman of the council while soliciting for his assistance and support towards the liberation of the politically oppressed Mosogar people, by ensuring that the Oyovwire Political Forum is considered for robust political appointments or empowerment in his administration.

The leaders of the group stressed that the OPF is a peace loving political pressure group in Mosogar, with a strong affiliation to the Aghwemutuwevwi political Forum (APF) worldwide, being the parent body which has its headquarters in Jesse, with strong determination, vision and mission to ensure  that dividends of Democracy gets to the downtrodden grassroots people of Ethiope west and beyond.

According to Comrade Odaka, "todays event, is epoch making, being the first dispensation, that the average politically oppressed and shortchanged PDP Faithfuls in Mosogar, would come out of their shells in large crowd, to openly fight for their rights and what is just, by vehemently appealing to the well meaning Ethiope west  leaders, for urgent intervention towards enhancing an equitable Democratic Dividend/sharing formula amongst all political blocks, devoid of sentiments in Mosogar, Ethiope west LGA of Delta State".

Insisting further, the Oyovwire political pressure group principal and the APF  Coordinator, Chief Wellington Oyibo and Engr. Gbeburu Ochuko opined that, "since the Amoribility pressure group leaders have single-handedly picked the four councilors from Mosogar, it is only fair for the post of the secretary to the LG and the Supervisory Councillor coming to Mosogar, to be considered for the Oyovwire group in the interest of equity fairness and justice, since the group has vowed not to relent in their struggle until justice is done to them by PDP leaders in Ethiope west LGA  and Delta State.

In a swift reaction, the Executive Chairman of Ethiope West LG Council, Hon. Oghenedoro Owoso (JP), commended the peaceful disposition and resilience of the group toward their agitation for fair play, promising to do his best to address all grievances raised, in the interest of justice, since God is a just God and the party wants every of its members interest serviced in oneness at every given time.

Owoso later charged the leadership of the group to also take their demands to God who is capable of answering all things, stating that yesterday, he took his cry to God but today, God has used Ethiope west leaders to answer him.

Assuring the group while praying for them, for God to, in the same manner answer their cry using the leaders from this Local Government. I can feel your pain he added.

Nevertheless, the chairman insisted that the position of the Secretary to the LG is  his personal prerogative to pick but promised to do his best to meet the group demands after meeting with concerned stakeholders and leaders with the view to addressing the issues raised by OPF group, holistically.

Being a Justice of Peace, the council boss could not hide his astonishment, by the crowd of party faithfulls which stormed his office from Mosogar. 

He however promised to carry the group along in the affairs of his administration apart from attending to their immediate request since we are all PDP members and are entitled to benefit from the PDP Government either through the Local Government or State Government level, Owoso added.

In a related development, Owoso averred that his Visible Transformation Agenda will cut across the nook and cranny of Ethiope west LG, stating that he is a detribalised chairman, hence his PA today is a Native of Mosogar by name, Mr Golden Profit Omene.

Hon Oghenedoro however appealed to the group to remain calm by sustaining the peaceful tempo with which they have been going about their demands, that he knows that, an injury for one PDP faithful is an injury for all PDP. 

Thereafter, the LG boss confirmed his earlier acknowledgement of the group's letter of request submitted to his Office last week being reason for inviting the group for today's joint meeting.

Other dignitaries who were present during the event, includes  Miss Gloria Ukey, Mr Imonisa Onovwiona, Madam Faith Regina Onogba, Madam Ighere Gloria and Mr Eseoghene Emiejere etc.
