CLEAN-UP OF WARRI: Warri South LG Council Intensifies Efforts

In its continued bid at ensuring that Warri South Local Government Council Area of Delta state upholds a clean environment, authorities of the Council, had in Saturday June 26, cleared up disposed waste and debris on major streets and roads in Warri.
This, according to sources in the Council office was part of measures at checking issues of flooding in the Oil City.
The clean up, which coincided with the state monthly environmental sanitation exercise, was supervised by the Council's Supervisor for Environment, Patricia Edun, the Head of Environment Department, Mrs. Stella Mode and the Assistant Director of Environment, Mrs. Indiana Oweimetu.
Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, has repeatedly stated that environmental sanitation/beautification as well as peace and security, form the major plank of his administration's policy for the current term.
Officers of the Department of Environment in the Council, alongside labourers and refuse trucks, were duly mobilized to strategic areas in the city, to ensure the success of the exercise.
Areas visited by the Environment department team include Odion Road, Carvagina Primary School, Cemetery Road, and Okere Road.
Others are, Okumagba Estate Roundabout, Ogunu Road by the Federal Government College Warri Fence and Ugbuwangue, were among areas cleaned up by officials of the council.
