"Look into the action of DPO Olusoji in order to prevent further occurrence that could tarnish the image of the Force".... Sulaiman, CHRSJ Chairman urges Police Command.
A Human Rights Organization, the Centre for Human Rights and Social Justice ( CHRSJ) has uncovered a Lagos State Divisional Police Officer(DPO), Mr. Johnson Olusoji with phone number:-+(234 8035707563) amidst alleged bribery scandal over illegal arrest of three brothers on trump-up issue.
Mr. Olusoji, a Divisional Police Officer in charge of Morogbo Divisional Police Station, Badagry, under Area "K" Police Command in the State, arrested the three (3) brothers over a land matter that had been resolved between the parties.
Nevertheless, DPO Olusoji turned the arrest of three brothers to extortion by collecting the sum of One hundred and Twenty thousand naira (#120,000) as bail funds and still requesting for the balance of Eighty thousand naira (#80,000).
According to the group, the names of those arrested are Sunday Idowu Pius (+234 8136457547), Saturday Idowu (+234 8036131296) and Monday Idowu (+234 7080988829).
The group disclosed that the brothers were arrested on 14th of May, 2021 on the instructions of DPO Olusoji by one Bode with phone number, +234 8033787049, who is the Investigation Police Officer (IPO) of the matter and they were released on 15th May, 2021 after they had reportedly, paid the sum of (N120,000).
According to the statement issued by the Executive Chairman of CHRSJ, Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman and made available to reporters on Monday, it described the action of DPO Olusoji as unlawful, illegal, undemocratic, and unconstitutional and an abuse of office, which the amended 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, frowned at it.
Comrade Sulaiman urged the State Command of the Nigeria Police Force to look into the action of DPO Olusoji in order to prevent further occurrence that could tarnish the image of the Force.
In the statement, Comrade Sulaiman further revealed that Alhaji Mutiu Adamson of No. 2, Unity Close, Akesan-Igando, Lagos and his partner, Alhaji Muri had purchased half-a-plot of land each from the Idowu family, at the rate of One Thousand Naira (N1,000) each, with a receipt dated 17th day of November, 2006 as evidence of payment. Both of them are friends of Jafo Authority, who is also a friend of DPO Johnson Olusoji, he stated. The receipt.
However, the Military came to use the land for development and, the family decided to carry the two of them (Mutiu and Muri) along, which they agreed to take another full plot of land each instead of earlier half plot of land purchased, in the nearby place.
Following this development, the issue was resolved amicably among them until a few months after, when the Idowu family called them to come and take over the possession of their full plot of land each as they agreed upon earlier. Instead, they just brought the Police to arrest them and are now, demanding Six Million Naira (#6,000,000:00) each for the earlier half of a plot of land through the DPO Olusoji.
“It was gathered that Alhaji Muri with phone number: +234 8023152698 and Alhaji Mutiu with phone number: +234 8023454725, reported the matter to the Police through the instruction of one Mr. Sulaiman Jafo Authority, the acclaimed Oba Oniba of Iba-Ekun and former Chairman, Keke NAPEP/Marwa Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria, Lagos State branch.
It was also learnt that, the two complainants had earlier informed the Jafo Authority that, they had settled the land matter, which they have accepted to take the one plot each in another place instead of half-a-plot each they bought earlier. However, Jafo Authority sent them to go and report to his friend, DPO Olusoji so that they would create food for the DPO Olusoji, through the matter and they too would eat from them before they would eventually take possession of the full plot of land in another place, as earlier agreed.
The said land located at the Osunba new-site, ilogbo-Eremi, Oko-Afon, Bus Stop, Lagos State and belonging to the late father of Sunday Idowu Pious, Saturday Idowu, Monday Idowu,Tope Idowu and Adele Idowu respectively.
It would be recalled that, it was clearly stated in the response of the ‘Petition Letter’ dated on the 6th day of March, 2012 by Idowu's lawyer, Barrister Idowu A. Kokumo of No.10, Ilojo Crescent, (5th floor), off Ikorodu Road, behind Lamlat House, Sav-Oil Bus-Stop, Obanikoro, Lagos. The response was to Barrister Adetunji J. Adenekan Esq of "Aditu Olodumare Chambers"; a solicitor to Mr. Jimoh Oreofero Akapo, another trespasser and late father of one Taiye Akapo, Iyabo Akapo, Aina Akapo, Seun Akapo, Enisa Akapo, Isaac Akapo, Juwon and Fatai Akapo on the same land of Idowu Ajimosun-Osunba Family situated at ilogbo-Eremi in Lagos State, that belongs to Late Chief Kole Idowu and he (Chief Kole Idowu) was Osunba Ilogbo-Eremi while alive and held the title for so many years until his demise on 29th Day of November, 2003.
It noted that the title of Osunba of Ilogbo-Eremi was not an honourary title, but a traditional/customary title of the Osunba Family and such title is never conferred on strangers or non-indigenes in the area.
Investigation further revealed that it has been the common habitual character of Mr. Sulaiman Jafo Authority (Oniba of Iba-Ekun) in connivance with one Bolaji Sulaiman (a.k.a. Orooro), Iya-Carry-Go and their followers, even when he was the Lagos State Branch Chairman of Keke-NAPEP/Marwa Union.
It further added that, one Mr. Jamiu Akibu Alarape, the former Unit Chairman of KEKE NAPEP/MARWA and his Executive members with their followers; Abdulwasiu Kilani Adekanla, Salimon Alawiye Muhammed, Taofeek Alarape and a host of others were seriously victimized, intimidated and unlawfully expelled from the union. This was achieved with some boys loyal to Jafo and Orooro, namely; Kazeem Abiodun Shomoye (a.k.a. Abbey) in company of Monsuru, Yellow, Task-Force, Balogun, Daniel and Air-Force Officer Ibrahim Dili at Bammeke to Dopemu Round-About and Shasha/ Air-Force-Base, under Alimosho Local Government Area in June 2009.
"Again, Amidullhai Abdusalam, Mallam Lukuman Allahumoh-L-Yeken at Abattoir, Funmilayo to Dopemu to Agege in the same June 2009, with Ikeja Anifowoshe to Alfa-Nla, Oke-Koto to Isale-Oja/Pen-Cinemal in Agege with another serious attacked on Elder Fadeju Peter(a.k.a.Baba-Ijesha), a former Ogba-Aguda/Excellence Unit Chairman of Keke Owners & Riders Association of Nigeria (Incorporating KEKE NAPEP Beneficiaries & Operators) with their Corporate Affairs Commission Certificate (CAC) of Registration No:CAC/IT/No21597, issued on 17th day of August, 2006 where their Board of Trustees as; Mr. Bashir Adisa Akinola, Chief Eze Nwachukwu, Alhaji Sabitu Ade Giwa, Malam Bala Muhammed Hassan, Pricess Esther Onaolapo Ogunbanjo, Alhaji Ashiru Sani Barmo and Mr. Sunny Enang, until the then Area "G" Commander’s intervention, in person of (ACP) Mobolaji Odesanya Francis, who later became the Commissioner of Police (CP), River State before his death and, the then Lagos Area "G" (ACO) Olori Folashade Adams.
"Also the then ACP Solomon Aranze of State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), later retired as Inspector General of Police(IGP) and the then Lagos State (CP), Mr. Marvel Akpoyibo, now retired", the group stated.
