Mr. Babatunde Raji Fasola Stop The Blame Game And Fix The Rot in Our Power Sector: A Rejoinder To Privatization Fraud And It's End In View, By David Adenekan.

To start with, the will of the people can override any evil contract that is not in the best interest of the public. The sanctity of a contract in a democratic government, rest in the hands of the people. 

Yes, a newly elected government can, because of overall public interest, evaluate the contract of past government and if the cost benefit analysis tilt in favor of special interests, it is within the power of the government as derived from the will of the people, to cancel such contract. 

The question are as follows:

One: Will the sanctity of such contract not become an aberration if it is allowed to run it's full test of tenure at the detriment of the masses? 

Two: Is it not expedient to cancel such contract because it is within the power of democracy? 

Three: Does the sanctity of every contract in government not rest in the power of the people and, why do we have to favor special interests at the detriment of the masses?

Yes, in a democracy the power to hire and fire lies in the hands of the people. In so far, the power to continue or discontinue any contract lies in the mandate of the people.  

This is just common sense. Is this not the right thing to do?

The bottomline, is that, there is no sanctity in a contract that will bring untold hardship to the masses. 

Mr. Babatunde Raji Fasola, read my lips, the passiveness or inaction of the Buhari  administration to fix the rot in the power sector and bring relief to the untold hardship of the masses, can no longer be tolerated. 

You guys should get back to work and stop the blame game!

According to Mr. Babatunde Raji Fasola "it will not be renewed". However, say it to the marines that it will not be redistributed to new set of people that are cronies and patronage of the cabal in Buhari administration. 

Suffice is it to say that, a responsible government rather than engaging in blame game will focus in finding a lasting solution to the poor and erratic supply of power distribution in Nigeria. 

PLEASE STOP THE BLAME GAME!

Did Mr. Raji Babatunde Fasola not tell Nigerians during the electioneering campaign ahead of 2015 general elections that he will fix the rot in the power sector under six months? Did the voters not believe in your words and voted for your party to win the election? 

It Is almost eight years that you have been serving as a substantive minister in the Buhari administration and the problem in the power sector has not been fixed.

In addition, Mr. Fasola told us that the ruling party have increased 3000 megawatts of electricity that was left behind by the immediate past administration of President Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan to 7000 megawatts, "Oju ti mi fun yin" This is interpreted as what a shame! 

In a digital age that everything we now do revolves around power generation, is 7000 megawatts of power generation is what Buhari administration can produce to meet the need of a fast growing population of about 200 millions people in the 21st century, industrial revolution? 

Furthermore, is it not a big shame that when many third world countries like Dubai, Kuwait, Indonesia and Rwanda with far less populations are generating power in the range of 50,000 megawatts (double digit), Nigeria is talking about power generation in the range of single digit (7000 megawatts) and Mr. Babatunde Raji Fasola is proud and boastful of it?

Mr. Babatunde Raji Fasola, did Nigeria not deserve better than this your unmerited explanation in this digital age?

Please, own up to your words eight years ago and fix the problem since you are still a member of the Buhari kitchen cabinet. It is called collective responsibility. 

Hmmm, the Buhari administration is winding down in less than 2 years. This is after a two terms of four years each and today the rot in the power sector persist. 

Truth be told, the Buhari administration is an abysmal failure in most sectors of the economy. 

Frankly speaking, a responsible and good government will not trade blame with power supply to meet the basic needs of the people but take the horn by the bull and get back to work. 

It is pertinent to say that the Buhari administration cannot wait for the tenure of the obnoxious contract between the immediate past government and DISCO to expire before they get back to work and fix the serious problem in our power sector. This is because poor and erratic power supply is one of the fundamental reasons the economy is in shambles.

Moreover, between now and when the contract will end, we can save a lot of jobs and industries that are contemplating to shut down because of the poor and erratic power supply in the country. 

Also, many of these industries cannot meet the heavy cost of power supply in the country. Hence, there overhead cost has increased astronomically and many of them cannot even break even to remain in business. 

This is just the reality. 

In summary, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fasola tell whoever is in charge of the ministry after four years that you left the ministry in a big mess to get back to work and fix the acute problem in our power sector and stop the blame game.

With the number of Distribution Companies, one also would query the figures provided as revenue generated by many of these DISCOS in relation to Transmission of electricity and it's subsequent supply to states in the federation. Findings have revealed that some states report virtually zero revenue from electricity supplied in spite of steady supply of electricity to them whereas, states in the South eastern axis are compelled to generate hundreds of millions of naira monthly without commensurate electricity supply.

AGAIN, STOP THE BLAME GAME!!!
