The ruling All Progressives Congress APC seems set for its final implosion following the loss of confidence and ominous signs of things having gone awry, including the inability of the party to retain its hold of power, resulting to many of its founding fathers, jumping out of the party.

Joining the long list of those dumping the APC is the pioneer National Chairman of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Rufai Hanga.

Hanga, while announcing his decision to dump the ruling party, said the APC right now is ‘technically non- existent’.

According to close sources within the APC, "many prominent leaders in the party made entreaties to Hanga not to leave the party but he disclosed that there is no going back on his decision as the APC will soon collapse."

Rufai Hanga is reported to have confided to an associate in Abuja, the nation's capital that he has resigned his membership of the APC. He however said he has not joined any other political party for now.

He was reported to have said that, "even though he was one of those who laboured to build the APC, he cannot wait and watch the party collapse on his head.
