In the statement, the group stressed that Chief Obukohwo John Nani has etched his name in the sands of time in not only the Idjerhe Kingdom but the entire delta state as a man, a one time commissioner of environment, with subsequent post of service to humanity and progress of Delta state in general, who has the well-being of his people at heart.

“Olorogun Obukohwo John Nani also at a time, served as the Publicity Secretary of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, a former member of the Delta State House of Assembly, has a strong and unquantifiable passion for human and capacity development, an enviable disposition towards quality and sustainable leadership/governance and this is what informed our decision to appeal to him, to come out and contest for the Office of Delta central senator.” The group stated.

“We are well aware that there are other persons seeking to vie for the same position but, in the truth of it all, there is the need for individuals with the right leadership qualities to enter the fray.”

“This is so, so that persons whose intentions cannot be vouched for, in terms of capacity, genuineness of purpose, ability to serve and not be served, be eased out.

“We, as Deltans for Sustainable Governance, require a young man with the capabilities to provide sustainable developmental programmes for all Deltans, inclusiveness, good governance, quality leadership and, of course, have the fear of God. These are some of the attributes of Obukohwo John Nani that has caught our attention.” The group stated.

Otadaferua expressed his confidence in Nani's victory, if he joins the race noting that Delta State and the PDP family, deserves the best to represent them at the Hallowed Chambers of the Senate at the National Assembly.

"We must project our best candidates to represent us and the best is Obukohwo John Nani." He stated.

Olorogun Ochuko Otoba further stressed that, “The exceptional strides of Olorogun Obukohwo Nani in his Idjerhe Kingdom and delta state at large, is evident and again, such is what the people of delta state requires for their well-being, growth and positive development.

“Deltans truly deserve the best hands to steer the ship of governance/ policies that will bring forward the better Delta state. In achieving that, we must ensure that people with proven integrity, purposefulness, vision and the right disposition are encouraged to contest for the exalted office of a senator.”

Olorogun Ochuko Otoba therefore, enjoined other Deltans both home and abroad, to implore the incumbent Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Delta State Oil Production and Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Olorogun Obukohwo Nani, the Aghwemutuwevwi 1 of Idjerhe Kingdom in Ethiope West of Delta state to throw his hat into the ring so that he can represent and lead Delta Central into the promised land in 2023 and beyond as their good ambassador.
