SHELL FACILITY SHUTDOWN UPDATE: Bayelsa State Govt Intervenes, Summon Multi Nationals, Host Communities As Protest Rnters Day Two.

The Bayelsa state government has finally intervened in the ongoing protest by residents of the Egbemo-Angalabiri/ Agbidiama communities against the failure of the oil giant, Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC and the General Memorandum of Understanding GMoU it had entered into with them.

The intervention followed the insistence of the state government that peace must prevail at all cost in the state.

Meanwhile, the protesters have remained defiant as they insist that their demands must be met before evacuating the oil facility.
