THE FEARS OF AN IGBO PRESIDENT & THE UNION OF NIGERIA SUSTAINABILITY QUESTION. By Ndubuisi Idejiora-Kalu

"The position of the Igbo man is clear; we are a moving people and when this ethnological truth makes any people in any way uncomfortable, we owe no one any apologies, as no one has the right to stop us from achieving our God given self-fulfillment envisions and rights." Kalu.

"This position of self-determination is a fundamental right and doesn't mean we will break away from the union today or tommorow or cause any trouble by doing so anytime. No!

An Igbo saying "atupu nkita akpi egosi ya n'iru, k'oghara iche n'aturu ya mbo" (when you remove the tick insect from the dog you show it to him so that he wouldn't think you deliberately pinched him)

Because Nigeria has not favoured the Igbo, and I mean when relating this to the deliberate moves to restrict their development and self-fulfillment even when they have contributed so much to the sustainability and development of this country, the Igbo therefore have every right to demand for self-determination. 

This position of self-determination is a fundamental right and doesn't mean we will break away from the union today or tommorow or cause any trouble by doing so anytime. No! Our call for self-determination simply means that we are registering our dissatisfaction to the lies and facade of unity (or false unity), a unity that does not exist in Nigeria and one that we understand as a grand  deception. 

, this proverb affirms the need to make yourself clear when you take a stand on an erroneously lingering matter. Anyone who has dogs knows what ticks can do the life of a dog if left in the skin of the dog. What is happening in Nigeria is like living or keeping a blind eye to the infestation of ticks and trying to play safe and wishing it away, it is doing the country no good, it is simply putting off or extending the evil day which will surely come sooner or later. The Igbo is not wired to keep mum in such circumstances. Another Igbo saying..."Okenye agaghi ano n'uno ewu anwuo n'ogbiri" (an adult cannot and will not be in the house and the goat will kill itself in the pen or die by strangulating itself with the rope it is tied with). So the Igbo is not wired to keep quiet to what is negatively happening in Nigeria!

So the resolve of the Igbo in taking a stand against the lies about Nigeria and its false unity, by voicing out how they have been deliberately restricted from developing as a people is a right, a thing a people of courage must do. The Igbo man doesn't swallow a cough spittle or mucus, he spits it out. Therefore, if other regions or peoples of Nigeria would ignore what is a glaring improper in Nigeria, the oldest indigenous and autochthonous people of Nigeria (the Igbo) will make their position clear and will not and cannot be silenced. Anyone who thinks the Igbo can be silenced would have made a mistake because the Igbo are not like that. We will speak out and take a stand!

Therefore, anyone who thinks he cannot vote an Igbo man or woman in as president of Nigeria for fears of them coming-up with a plan that will break the Nigerian union is simply being mischievous. 

The call for self-determination by the Igbo of the South Eastern people of Nigeria should be one that should be welcomed with open arms and should open-up discussions as to why such calls are being made. It shouldn't herald reasons for fears of any sort. The position of the Igbo man is clear, we are a moving people and when this ethnological truth makes any people in any way uncomfortable, we owe no one any apologies, as no one has the right to stop us from achieving our God given self-fulfillment envisions and rights, we reserve the right to forge for ourselves a better arena of exclusive territorial jurisdiction where we can achieve our God enabled envisions. The Igbo have no time for anybody that doesn't want to move forward in life. This is a natural constant of all Igbo, for the ones that lived before us, the ones born now and the ones to be born tommorow and we have no apologies for this.
