A Prominent elder statesman and Community leader in Udu Local Government Council Area of Delta State, Olorogun Eddie Ono-Sorhue has joined voices with other elders and concerned stakeholders in appealing to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, to use his good office and award the contract for the construction of the Orhuwhorun-Owhrode-Otor Udu Road in Udu Local Government Area, Delta State.

Chief Ono-Sorhue, a respected chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, gave the appeal on Saturday in his country home is Owhrode, in Udu Local Government Council, while responding to questions by Naij News Alert Editor In-Chief, Emmanuel Onotevure in a telephone chat.

According to the PDP top wig, the call by the Owhrode Elites Forum, which he is a member, is supported by all members of the affected communities and, it is the collective belief that the Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, a man of strong and purposeful character will accede to this request and appeal.

"The economic and socio-developmental gains of this road to the good people of Udu Local Government Council Area and the state in general, cannot be overemphasized."

"The call by Chief Isaac Etaghene and his chapter members in Lagos State is appreciated as we have also reiterated in several fora back home, here in Delta state and we will not relent in speaking to the good conscience of the Executive Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to alleviate the challenges of our people as we also do not forget his developmental strides in the affected communities in Udu LGA.

"The Owhrode link road is in a very deplorable state and a death trap to all in spite of its very important economic benefit not just to the people of Owhrode community, but to other neighbouring communities.

“The construction of this link road will help in decongesting the heavy traffic at Otor-udu/Ubogo Market. It will also serve as a link road through Orhuwhorun to other major towns around Warri and its environs.

"Again, the commencement of the award and construction of this project will facilitate the transportation of farm produce to major towns by local farmers and traders.

"As a people, we will continue to give all the necessary support and encouragement to our indefatigable governor to finish strong in his Stronger Delta Agenda." Chief Eddie Ono-Sorhue stated.
