“We remain determined in ensuring that the right person(s) emerges as Governor of Delta state.” D4AGI.

“There are still issues to be resolved, going forward. We still have the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court, which is the final arbiter.

"These are just the handiwork of persons with the aim of denying our beloved state, the opportunity of having the most capable hand, lead it to glorious heights.

Ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general elections, Nigerians of Urhobo extraction and Deltans in Burkina Faso have thrown their weight behind the governorship bid of Right Honourable Francis Sheriff Oborevwori.

The Urhobos and Deltans in Diaspora, have reiterated that Right Honourable Oborevwori is true, "Oborevwori of Delta; is the best and most suitable candidate to take Delta State to the promised land in 2023."

Rising from a crucial meeting in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, on Thursday, July 7 2022, the group, under the aegis of "Diaspora for Accountable Governance Initiatives", (D4AGI) noted that Rt. Hon. Oborevwori is eminently qualified to govern Delta state come 2023.

Reacting to the judgment of a Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, sacking Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the group stressed that, as a law abiding body, it will continue to remain focused and therefore, will not be distracted at all, by the pronouncement of the Federal High Court.

“We remain determined in ensuring that the right person(s) emerges as Governor of Delta state.”

“There are still issues to be resolved, going forward. We still have the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court, which is the final arbiter.

"These are just the handiwork of persons with the aim of denying our beloved state, the opportunity of having the most capable hand, lead it to glorious heights.

In a statement issued after its meeting, D4AGI urged the leaders and stakeholders in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State, to ensure that Rt Hon Francis Sheriff Oborevwori is given the maximum support and votes to emerge as the governor of Delta state.

The statement, signed by Dr. Ochuko Patrick Otoba (CEO of Saso Industries Burkina Faso) and Mr. Kelly Oyovurie (CEO of K-Gold Mining Company Burkina Faso), its Director-General, and Secretary-General respectively, described Oborevwori as "Our Oborevwori of Delta state."

The D4AGI emphasized that there is a huge difference between; "Our own, and their own."

The antecedents of Olorogun Francis Sheriff Oborevwori as a compassionate grassroots politician places him in good stead to steer the ship of the state, the group stressed that Rt. Hon Oborevwori’s national and international exposure would also serve as worthy assets to move the state to greater heights after the exit of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

The D4AGI said; “Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has been identified as a fertile human resource within the state and at the national level and therefore, strongly urges all Deltans to support and key into this laudable initiative of electing him as governor of our dear state in 2023.”

Responding to inquiries as to its support for Oborevwori's candidacy and its ability to deliver massive votes for the PDP flag bearer, D4AGI said; "Our ability to deliver is based on our political strength, in the Diaspora and also, members on the ground that cuts across Nigeria including those in northern Nigeria.

"We are going to mobilize enough local support plus that of the Diaspora members, who all are currently acquiring their voters' cards and ready to exercise their franchise.

“We have profiled all Deltans jostling to succeed Governor Okowa in 2023, across political divides and we have come to an irreversible and irrevocable conclusion that Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is the best man for the job.”

The D4AGI revealed that already, it has inaugurated the leadership of its Campaign Teams, with following, Ochuko Patrick Otoba (W/A), Ejenavi Oghene (NG), and Kelly Oyovurie (BF) as heads, to see to the successful completion of its mission of ensuring that Francis Sheriff Oborevwori emerges Governor of Delta state, come 2023.
