NEWS: POLICE NEUTRALIZE SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBER IS DELTA STATE .... Recovers One (1) AK 47 RIFLE

"One AK47 rifle with breech no 2534896 and six rounds of 7.62MM ammunition were recovered. Manhunt for the fleeing members of the gang is ongoing." PPRO Delta State.

The Delta State Police Command Headquarters in Asaba has neutralized a suspected armed robber and recovered one (1) AK 47 rifle, by a team of policemen on patrol at about 7:30am on August 1, 2022.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer PRO, Delta State Command,  DSP Edafe Bright, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, disclosed that the patrol team, attached to the Illah Division while on stop and search duty at Ogbada quarters along Illah–Akwukwu-Igbo road, was attacked by three armed men suspected to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). 

The team, according to the statement, engaged them in a fierce gun duel during which one of the hoodlums was neutralized while the other members of the gang escaped with gunshot injuries.
