FAKE NEWS: INTERIOR MINISTRY ISSUES DISCLAIMER OVER TRENDING STORY

The Permanent Secretary, Interior Affairs Ministry, Dr Shuaib Belgore has refuted the story in a section of media platforms pertaining to youths been directed to obtain forms and certificates for a purported ongoing programme by the Federal Government, 

Belgore, in a statement he personally signed, distanced the Ministry from the said announcement.

He said; "The attention of the Ministry of Interior has been drawn to the fake news in form of public announcement dated 15th May, 2023, purportedly signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr Shuaib Belgore, asking Nigerian Youths to obtain a non-existent Certificate of Endurance and Survival from their various local governments."

According to the fake announcement, ‘‘it is in line with the decision of the Federal Executive Council. The certificate will serve as our sincere honor for your endurance and patriotic citizenship during the eight years of President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime’’.
