Four armed men last Sunday kidnapped Mr Kelechi Uwaoma, the newly elected President General of Amaogwugwu village in lkwuano local government Area of Abia State.

Eye witness account disclosed that the young men, in their early thirties, had stormed the new residential area of the village and whisked away Mr Uwaoma to an undisclosed location around Okigwe.

In the course negotiations, it was gathered that the sum off N100 million Naira was demanded by the abductors as ransom before he would be released.

According to informed sources, "it was during the negotiation that it was realized that Mr Uwaoma was not the actual target they were looking for."

Elites of the village have however, called on the Abia State Commissioner of Police Mr Mustapha Mohamed Bala to help srengthen the security in the area
