Head Of Service Attributes Successes Recorded To Seamless Implantation Of FCSSIP25

The Successes recorded so far by the Office of the Head of Service of the Federation has been attributed to the seamless implementation of the six pillars of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 (FCSSIP25), as well as Public-Private-Partnerships.
This was disclosed by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Yemi Esan.
She disclosed that the OHCSF is partnering with the private sector in its resolve to transform the Service to a world class standard, while urging the states to engage in PPPs, in order to fast-track their various activities for viable and visible service delivery outcomes.
Dr Esan who made this known at the Opening Ceremony of the 45th Meeting of the National Council on Establishments (NCE) taking place in Bauchi, described it as the highest decision making body on matters concerning to the Public Service.
She implored Civil Servants both at the national and sub-national levels to remain committed and loyal so that the Service will regain its pride.
The HoSF also called on states to encourage Civil Servants to apply and participate in the ongoing LEAD-P programme the Federal Government makes available each year with the aim of enhancing their leadership skills.
The Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, in his address urged all Civil Services in the 36 states of Federation and the FCT to form strong alliance with the OHCSF so as to fast-track development and service delivery across the length and breadth of Nigeria.
Governor Bala who considered the great feats achieved by HoSF worthy of emulation by other states, specifically called on Public Servants to leverage on facilities offered by the Bank of Agriculture and the World Bank to engage in agriculture so as to move away from corrupt practices.
He also sought for the entrenchment of unity, love and loyalty through capacity development, in order to curb challenges in the system, reiterating that his administration has declared a state of emergency on infrastructure with education to follow suit, soon.
The Governor intimated the audience that his state, like the Federal, has been able to run its Service through the implementation of the following; use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to drive service delivery and engagement of workers in skill acquisition for self reliance.
Others, he said, includes the adoption of a merit-base promotion and appointment process to improve capacity and quality of governance, 30% wage award, regular payment of salaries, allocation of vehicles to Permanent Secretaries and recently, approved the employment of 10,000 workers to bridge the existing capacity, as well as unemployment gap.
The Head of Service, Bauchi state, Alh. Yahuza A. Adamu, while welcoming the audience, affirmed that the Executive Governor runs a workers' friendly government.
Alhaji Yahuza assured the Council members of a safe and conducive environment throughout their stay.
The Chairman, Bauchi State Civil Service Commission, Alh. Abubakar Usman, during his address appreciated the Council for choosing Bauchi as the host while commending the HoSF for insisting on a merit-base Permanent Secretaries’ selection process, despite all the criticisms in the media space.
While announcing the lifting of embargo on employment in the state, the Chairman, requested for the establishment of an Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) campus in Bauchi for the training of its workforce.
The Emir of Katagum, Alh. Baba Umar Farouk, who represented that of Bauchi, commended the HoSF for her efforts in improving service delivery, while the Speaker, Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Babayo Mohammed, urged Civil Servants to be loyal to constituted authorities.
The Emir requested for an adoption of a unified salary structure for all Public workers in the country, insisting that this will reduce rancour between employers and employees.
