Former Executive Governor of Ebonyi state, Senator David Nweze Umahi, has lauded the electoral victory of Professor Okorie Anthony Ani, winner of the just concluded Saturday's bye-election for the vacant seat of Ebonyi South Senatorial District of Ebonyi state, describing the win as a victory for the people.

Senator David Umahi, who was the immediate past representative of the people of Ebonyi South Senatorial District in the Hallowed Red Chamber of the 10th National Assembly, created a vacuum when he was appointed by Mr. President to serve as a Cabinet member of his administration, as the Honourable Minister for Works; an appointment many have described as "a round peg in a very round hole."

Senator Engr David Nweze Umahi is variously regarded as a sound, qualified and professional who is fixated on delivering the best for Nigeria, in his capacity as the Honourable Minister for Works, and has indeed shown his preference for quality service delivery, capacity and capability.
