WOMEN AFFAIRS MINISTER DISRUPTS ABUJA EVENT .... Accuses Organizers Of Impersonation, Didn't Have Approval

Nigeria's Minister of Women Affairs, Barr. Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye is again on the news. This time around, she is reported to  have disrupted an event organised by Mela-Chiyoma Pat Limited in Abuja, over yet to be verified allegations bordering on impersonation and using the name of the Ministry to stage an event bt the organization.

In a trending video shared online by the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR), the Minister for Women Affairs was seen accusing the organizers of impersonation.

According to her, the event, tagged “Unveiling the Power of Women and Food Security,” was convened in the name of the Ministry of Women Affairs without approval.

In the video, the Minister was overheard addressing the seated guests which included stakeholders, the Deputy Governor of Abia state and some serving Commissioners of Women Affairs from some states and foreign dignitaries, said President Bola Tinubu had ordered for the cancellation of the event, but the organiser proceeded with it.

Kennedy-Ohanenye added that the Department of State Services (DSS) had taken the event organiser into custody.

Addressing the attendees and referring to the event organisers, she said: “I’m standing here to explain this to everyone. She has been arrested. She should have reorganised herself, used her name to make the invitation, and used her name to do this, not to use the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs.

“I can’t allow this programme to go on because this is pure impersonation, and the President is not happy about it. I’m saying it, let the media cover it. We don’t care. You don’t do this. You don’t take the ministry for granted, for what?”
