“Fellow Nigerians, irrespective of faith or ethnicity, I urge us all to pray for our beloved country which is presently in the claws of bad governance, lawlessness, intolerance for opposition voices among others foisted on us by the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration of President Bola Tinubu." Ilya Damagun.

..... Says "The holy month was a period of intense devotion, self-discipline, and spiritual renewal."

Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ambassador Umar Ilya Damagun has urged Nigerians irrespective of religion or tribe to fervently pray for emancipation of the country from bad governance.

While felicitating with Muslim faithfuls on the occasion of this year's Eid celebration which marks the end of Ramadan fasting, he called for rededication of lives to Almighty Allah.

He also charged them to embrace love, tolerance and peace while stressing that "the holy month was a period of intense devotion, self-discipline, and spiritual renewal."

Damagum, in a message on Sunday signed by Bisi Ezekiel, Media Assistant to the Acting National Chairman, reminded adherents of the Islamic faith to note the virtues of Ramadan, which are; patience, compassion, and generosity.

"Through fasting, prayers, and charity, we have strengthened our faith and renewed our commitment to the values of peace, unity, and love for humanity. As we rejoice today, let us carry forward these noble teachings beyond Ramadan and continue on the path of righteousness," he said

Going forward, the PDP acting National Chairman specifically charged Nigerians to remember the country in their daily prayers as he said the nation is under the siege of bad governance.

“Fellow Nigerians, irrespective  of faith or ethnicity, I urge us all to pray for our beloved country which is presently in the claws of bad governance, lawlessness, intolerance for opposition voices among others foisted on us by the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration of President Bola Tinubu.

"The APC government has no respect for the rule of law, have trampled upon the Constitution, pocketed institutions and arms of government such as the National Assembly, the judiciary, armed forces and other vital agencies of government to the detriment of our nascent democracy.

"As a party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is demanding from Nigerians, solidarity, prayers and resoluteness to take back governance to the people.

"Our nation is facing challenges, but together, with unity of purpose and collective resilience, we shall overcome. Let us reject bad governance  and rally round the PDP as we look at 2027 ahead of us so that we cal all have  a peaceful, prosperous Nigeria where every citizen is treated equally. "

Damagum prayed that the blessings of this season bring progress and renewed hope to the nation and her citizens.
