Don't let anybody deceive you to join APC, PDP Ovwian Ward 7 leaders to members,vows to reclaim stolen mandate





Leaders of the People's Democratic Party, PDP in Ovwian Ward 7, Udu Local Government Area of Delta State today warned its members that they should not allow anybody to deceive them to join the All Progressives Congress, APC saying, "There's no other party apart from the PDP in Ovwian Ward 7." 


The PDP leaders called on its members to remain as well as work for the party to reclaim its stolen mandate from local government to the Presidency. 


The PDP leaders handed down the warning at a meeting held at the Ovwian Community's town hall. 


In a remark, a former PDP Ward 7 leader, Chief Odjeku Matthew Uparan said the people they brought to the party were the ones who have been deceiving them before they defected to the APC. 


Chief Uparan also assured members of the party that the leaders will not betray the trust and confidence reposed in them as they remain in the PDP. 


Also in a remark, Chief Oghenero Akpovwan Destiny who appreciated the people for honouring the invitation, said, "Nobody should deceive you to join APC. Stay in PDP and work for the party. If they (APC) come to you, tell them to stay in their APC and let's stay in our PDP."


Hon. (Chief) Lawson A. Oghoifo, in his address during the meeting, said those who defected to the APC have been problematic within PDP before their defection. He said since their defection, the PDP have attained freedom saying, there is need to celebrate. 


Hon. Oghoifo said the true PDP leaders are not running to anywhere because they are not thieves. "Na who thief nai dey run. We nor thief. So, we cannot leave PDP."



While noting that during the reign of the PDP during the administration of former President Goddluck Ebele Jonathan, a litre of Petrol was sold for sixty five (N65) naira. He said, now under the APC leadership, a litre of Petrol sells for over nine hundred naira. 


Chief Oghoifo said the PDP has remained stronger and better since the defection of some persons from the party. 


He said the recent defection of some persons at the State to Unit levels of the PDP to the APC is a betrayal of trust and confidence reposed in them by the rest of them who are still in the PDP. He vowed that the PDP will reclaim its mandate in the 2027 general elections and rescue the country from this political and economic quagmire. 


On his part, the Chairman of PDP in Ovwian Ward 7, Comrade William Saiki said they have decided to follow the PDP and there is no turning back. 


The Udu Local Government Area Coordinator of the PDP, Hon. Johnbull Kenairu said, "There's no APC Ward 7."


According to him, "APC is dead in Ward 7", saying only the PDP exists in the area. 


Hon. Kenairu urged the people to support the party towards ensuring that it reclaim its stolen mandate. "PDP is alive" he said. 


Pioneer PDP Ward 7 Chairman, Ovwian, Comrade Odiete Zion enjoined party faithfuls to choose and stand with the umbrella and dump the broom for good. Comrade Zion who also said the PDP leaders will not leave the party, added that party faithfuls should tell others that the party is the only party in Ovwian Ward 7 in Udu Community. 


Chief Felix Sibako, Hon. Joseph Oro, Oghuvwie-General (Prime Minister) of Ovwian Community, Ovedje Ovien Sylvester, Chief Matthew Kilolo, Benson Bonny, Esther Doghor, Theresa Dimoko, Mr. Joseph Doghor, Innocent Bezi, Youth leader and Chief Sunny Gboma also spoke on the matter just as they aligned themselves with the positions of the other PDP leaders.
