NOA DG COMMENDS SECURITY AGENCIES ON SUSTAINED SYNERGY IN OPERATIONS .... Applauds Sacrifices of Nation's Security Forces

The Director General of the National Orientation Agency NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu on Monday at the Agency's Headquarters in Abuja, welcomed participants and members of the media to its Monthly Joint Security Press Briefing which had in attendance, representatives from the Army, Police, EFCC, NFIU, and other agencies of government.

Issa-Onilu, while giving his address, restated that the monthly engagement demonstrates the Federal Government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous communication with citizens on issues of security, anti-corruption, and public trust.

Noting that the synergy among security agencies had improved tremendously, Issa-Onilu disclosed that these improvements resulted in faster interdictions and fewer casualties. "Terror-linked arrests rose by 33% which reflected the proactive use of human and digital intelligence, with rescues growing by 40% showing that security operations are shifting from reactive to preventive. He noted the sacrifices our security forces and reaffirms that data-driven collaboration and citizen intelligence are central to sustaining national peace and safety.

Speaking on the notable achievements of the anti corruption agency; the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, the Director General of the NOA revealed that under the leadership of Mr. Ola Olukoyede as Chairman in the last two years, recovered a total sum of #566.3 billion naira including $411.6 million across currencies. He further disclosed that 1,502 properties were forfeited to government in period under review and that part of recovered funds (₦100 billion) reinvested in Students Loan scheme and Consumer Credit Scheme.

The NOA DG pointed out that the federal Government is ensuring that every kobo recovered from corruption works for the people—funding education, credit, and health reforms rather than lying idle. This he said, reflects Renewed Hope Accountability—turning recovery into public good.

"The Government commends these agencies for their professionalism and reaffirms its unwavering resolve to build a safe, fair, and accountable nation through coordination and transparency." Onilu stated.

Speaking on the Public Communication and Trust-Building Drive of the National Orientation Agency NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu revealed that, "Between August and October 2025, NOA intensified national communication on security awareness, civic responsibility, and unity. 

"36 states + FCT have activated the Joint Security Communication Framework, with an estimated 29 million citizens being reached via 50+ radio/TV stations while Digital channels reached 3 million more via Facebook, X, YouTube, Instagram, and CLHEEAN AI.

"Public trust and vigilance improved measurably in recent opinion tracking." He said.

While noting that the federal government recognizes the NOA as the lead driver of public trust and civic resilience, he said that, "In the digital era, information itself is a security tool—accurate information saves lives; misinformation costs them.

"The coordinated Joint Security Communication Platform is producing what global analysts call the “whole-of-government approach”—a best-practice model used in advanced democracies to align security, communication, and governance.

"President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda continues to translate into visible, data-backed outcomes—greater security, restored confidence, and institutional accountability.

"October 2025 marked another step forward in Nigeria’s collective journey toward safety and trust. Together, through courage, collaboration, and communication, we are reclaiming public confidence in our institutions.
