TCN SET TO BOOST POWER SUPPLY IN ABUJA ..... As Team Inspects Abuja Independent Power Plant Phase 1 In Gwagwalada

The Management of Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), led by the Executive Director, Transmission Service Provider (TSP), Engr. Dr. Oluwagbenga Ajiboye inspected the ongoing construction work at the Abuja Independent Power Plant Project Phase One in Gwagwalada, Abuja, today, 18th February, 2026.


The visit to the plant site was aimed at assessing the project's progress, obtaining first-hand information on its generating capacity, commissioning timeline, and evacuation requirements for integration into the national grid.


The engagement provided an opportunity for technical discussions between TCN engineers and the project contractor, reinforcing coordination ahead of the December 2026 commissioning.
