Specialized reporters of the Nigerian power sector have been called upon to put to bear, their access to information that will promote industry reporting and better educate the public.
Making this call is the Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Dr Musiliu Oseni, when he received in audience, the executives of the Power Correspondents Association of Nigeria (PCAN) who were on a courtesy visit to the NERC Headquarters in Abuja on Monday, March 23, 2026.
Dr Oseni who welcomed the collaboration offer from PCAN, further emphasized that informed media coverage is vital to securing public support for ongoing reforms within the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI).
In his remarks, PCAN Chairman Obas Esiedesa commended the Commission for its improved digital transparency and proactive data sharing.
Esiedesa reaffirmed PCAN’s commitment to enhancing the depth and accuracy of reporting within the power sector.
