A group of concerned National Health Fellows has dismissed reports suggesting that the Federal Government has failed to honour its employment promise, insisting that the recruitment process remains ongoing and has not been abandoned.

In a statement issued to clarify what they described as “misleading narratives,” the Fellows said engagements with relevant authorities confirmed that the process is still in motion. According to them, discussions with the Technical Assistant to the Minister of Health revealed that the Human Resource Department of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare is awaiting an official response from the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC) as of April 29, 2026.

The group added that this position was independently verified during a visit by delegates to the FCSC on May 5, where the same information was confirmed, reinforcing that the process has neither been ignored nor discontinued.

Addressing claims of representation, the Fellows cautioned against statements credited to purported “leaders,” noting that there is currently no formally recognised leadership structure among them. They urged the public to treat such claims with skepticism.

Reaffirming their trust in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Fellows said his earlier declaration of “You are hired” remains a strong symbol of commitment that continues to inspire confidence among beneficiaries.

“We remain confident in his leadership and hopeful that the commitment made will be fulfilled,” the statement read.

The group also appealed to stakeholders and the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information, warning that premature conclusions could create unnecessary panic and undermine ongoing engagements.

They stressed their commitment to constructive dialogue, unity, and responsible communication, expressing optimism that the Federal Government will ultimately deliver on its promise.
