Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi Hails Kogi State At 35 .... Calls For Collective Commitment To Its Next Chapter

..... With leadership, unity and a shared commitment to service, Kogi can rise far beyond the boundaries of its past and become an even stronger force in Nigeria’s future. Happy 35th Anniversary, Kogi State.

Kogi at 35 is more than a commemoration of a date; it is a celebration of a people who have, across three and a half decades, turned diversity into identity, adversity into resilience and aspiration into progress. 

I warmly congratulate the Government and people of Kogi State on this milestone and commend His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for sustaining the development trajectory of the state. 

I equally acknowledge the contributions of the immediate past Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, as well as those of our progressive political leaders, founding fathers, traditional, community builders and citizens whose sacrifices have shaped Kogi’s journey.

As a proud Kogi son, I have always considered service to our people a responsibility rather than a privilege. 

In my own modest capacity, I have supported pathways to federal employment for Kogi indigenes, strengthened opportunities for indigenous small and medium scale enterprises, and invested in initiatives that give our young people reasons to believe in their own possibilities. 

Through the DAM Foundation, particularly its youth programmes, basketball initiatives, scholarships, grants and sponsorships, we have sought to build bridges among young Kogites and create platforms where talent can meet opportunity.

At 35, the greatest asset of Kogi is not only what has been built, but the human capital capable of building what comes next. 

Our state stands at a point where the imagination, enterprise and public spirit of its people must match the opportunities before us. 

I therefore urge Kogi leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, academics, public servants, traditional institutions and citizens succeeding in different fields to bring their knowledge, networks and influence home. Every contribution matters when the destination is collective prosperity.

The next chapter of Kogi must belong to a people united by purpose and confident enough to think beyond the familiar. Let us preserve our heritage while creating new possibilities in education, enterprise, technology, agriculture, energy, industry and youth development.
