Julius Berger, Lagos Water Corporation Move to Protect Pipelines, Boost Infrastructure Delivery

Julius Berger Nigeria Plc and the Lagos State Water Corporation (LSWC) have opened discussions on closer collaboration to improve the coordination of road and water infrastructure projects across Lagos State.

The initiative followed a courtesy visit by the LSWC management to Julius Berger’s regional office in Ijora, Lagos, where both organisations explored areas of mutual cooperation, including protection of water pipelines during road construction, water infrastructure development and integrated infrastructure planning.

Speaking during the meeting, Julius Berger’s Regional Commercial Manager, Alexander Bauer, stressed the importance of early engagement and coordination among infrastructure stakeholders to prevent project disruptions and ensure lasting value.

The Managing Director of LSWC, Engr. Mukhtaar Temitope Tijani, described the visit as a relationship-building initiative aimed at establishing stronger ties between the two organisations.

Tijani said improved collaboration would be particularly beneficial in areas where road construction intersects with water distribution infrastructure, noting that better communication could help identify and protect critical pipelines during construction activities.

He said the engagement would also strengthen institutional understanding, enhance technical coordination and create opportunities for long-term collaboration in support of Lagos State’s infrastructure development agenda.

Both organisations expressed commitment to maintaining stronger communication channels and identifying new opportunities for cooperation in road construction, water supply systems, pipeline protection and sustainable infrastructure development.
