TAIGA IS THE BEST CANDIDATE – BAROVBE

The Okunna of Agbon Kingdom, Chief Johnson Modika Barovbe, has rubbished claims that Olorogun Moses Taiga is Lagos-based and not suitable for the position of President General of Urhobo Progress Union.

Speaking to a select group of journalists over the weekend, Chief Barovbe said Olorogun Taiga remains the best candidate for the position of the President General.

“What are these people talking about? The PG is PG of Urhobos, both at home and other parts of the world. That is partly why we have UPU branches all over. Even at that, Olorogun Taiga has a palatial home in Okpare and comes home regularly sometimes weekly”, he said.

According to Barovbe, “some people are missing the point. What we need at this time is a PG with clout and connections who can lift the Urhobo nation out of the current pitiable state”.

“Olorogun Taiga towers above all other contestants in this regard and with regards to other criteria for the PG position. This is no time for sentiments. The pride, honour and future of the Urhobo Nation are at stake”.

The Okunna of Agbon kingdom also dismissed fears that Olorogun Taiga will be too busy to carry out the responsibilities of PG effectively.

“Olorogun Taiga has been effectively running many businesses and activities simultaneously all his life and wondered why it will be different at this time that he is more mature and experienced. The PG position is for accomplished people, not idle people”, he concluded.
