One time Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bagudu Hirse has been kidnapped by yet to be identified gunmen.
The unfortunate incident which occurred in Kaduna on Sunday evening close to the residence of Alhaji Mamman Daura, ostensibly one of the most influential men in Nigeria today due to his closeness to the President, Muhammadu Buhari, has sent men prominent influential personalities in the state, under cover.

The gunmen, who accosted the former Foreign Affairs Minister in front of the Daura residence in high brow Malali area of Kaduna state, were reported to have shot severally into the air to scare away any resistance and whisked the former Ambassador to an unknown destination.
As at the time of filing in this report, the abductors of the former Minister have not demand any ransom.
The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO in the Kaduna state Police Command Headquarters, Aliyu Usman ASP who confirmed the development said investigation has commenced to track down the culprits as the State Command Headquarters had mounted checkpoints for stop and search operations across the state.
According to eyewitness account, the former Minister had stopped over in front of Alhaji Mamman Daura house, along Inuwa Wada road, Malali GRA, Kaduna while its passengers were exchanging pleasantries with some people when the gunmen arrived.
“They jumped down from their car and moved towards the former minster shouting on top of their voices; get in! Get in!!
“They shot in the air severally to scare people away and then zoomed off with the Minster in their vehicle”.
The make and model of the type vehicle could not be ascertained by the eyewitness as everybody ran for his dear life and it was only later, people got to know who the gunmen took away, the eyewitness said.
However, it was discovered that the former Minster was said to be in company off his friend, as they had gone to pay condolence visit to the family of the late Sultan of Sokoto, Ibrahim Dasuki on Kabiru road, a stone-throw distance from the area and decided to make a quick stopover at the house of Daura who was at home and was receiving guests and other family members.
