KINGS OFURHE, KADUNA   The Kaduna state government has announced that the 24-hour curfew imposed in three local government areas of Jema’a, Kaura and Zangon Kataf, Kaduna State will be relaxed to 12 hours (6am to 6pm) will be effective only on Sunday 25th and Monday 26th December, 2016.

The relaxation of the 24-hour curfew in the LGAs will allow Christians in the affected areas celebrate the Yuletide.
This much was made known by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Mr. Samuel Aruwan in a statement to the media.
According to Mr. Aruwan, the curfew will be resumed on the 27th December 2016 until the situation that led to it is properly brought under control.
However, to ensure a hitch-free Yuletide, more security operatives have been deployed to every nook and cranny of the state.
The decision to impose a 24hrs curfew in the affected areas was taken following credible intelligence at the disposal of security agencies suggests possible threat to peace and the urgent need to nip it in the bud.
“In order to strengthen security in Southern Kaduna and the state at large, more troops and operatives comprising the Nigerian Army, DSS and other intelligence personnel/investigators have been deployed to ensure the security of citizenry and maintenance of law and order”, Spokesman to Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai stated.
“The Nigerian Police have also deployed various units of Mobile Police, Counter Terrorism Units (CTU) as well as many units of both conventional and undercover police to adequately provide security to the people”.
“You may recall that the Governor had met Mr. President regarding the security situation in the areas and the intelligence reports at the disposal of security agencies”, Aruwan said.
