LATE GEN. ADEBAYO’s VIRTUES HAILED BY HEALTH MINISTER

Nigeria’s
Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole has described as shocking, the death of
a committed nationalist; General Adeyinka Adebayo.
Adewole,
while commiserating with the family, friends and political associates,
recalled
his tenure as the Pro Chancellor, and Chairman of the governing council of the
great University of Ibadan and described him as an effective chairman, a
disciplinarian and, an astute administrator.
General
Adeyinka Adebayo, according to the Honourable Minister, distinguished himself
in service as a Military Officer and Governor of the old Western State between
August 1966 and April 1971 and whose immense wisdom and wealth of experience
will be sorely missed.
“He
was a committed father, a true patriot and a staunch advocate of the nonnegotiable
unity of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.
Adebayo
died on the eve of his 89th birthday Wednesday 8th of
March, 2017.
