33yrs Old Man Hacks Partner To Death in Front of Police Station.

A man identified as Daniel Oyodi, aged 33, had been arrested for the murder of his partner, 35 years old Regina Kinda, following a disagreement over their finances.

The incident which occurred in front of a police station,

has thrown the residents of Mweiga Town in Nyeri County, Kenya, into mourning.

According to available information, the couple had been embroiled in a family dispute over their finance the previous day at their home. 

An obviously upset Regina reported Daniel for assault, but things escalated quickly when Daniel attacked after her with a machete and hacked her to death just outside the police station at around midday Saturday.

Daniel Oyodi, after committing the grievous act, surrendered to the police and was immediately taken into custody.

Speaking with the press, the Kieni West Divisional Commanding officer, Mr Joseph Omijah said the couple argued for a few minutes before Daniel pulled out a machete and began attacking Regina, right before astounded passersby.

"The man came carrying a panga, the couple had a short argument, before he started slashing the woman", said police officer Omijah.

Describing the injuries Regina suffered, Omijah said Daniel "first chopped off the woman’s left hand and slashed her head before he surrendered to the police to escape from the wrath of an irate mob that was baying for his blood".

The grievously wounded Regina was rushed to the nearby Mary Immaculate Hospital, but she was pronounced dead on arrival by the doctors at the hospital.

Daniel is still in police custody and on Monday, will be arraigned for murder.
