OKOROCHA RAISES ALARM OVER PRISON CONJESTION IN IMO

Governor of Imo state, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has raised an alarm over the congestion in the Owerri Prison and warned of the dangers which could result in a jailbreak if not urgently addressed.


Owelle Rochas gave this warning following the congestion, inadequate and decrepit facilities in the prison.

The Governor made this known after a meeting with members of the Imo State Security Council and heads of security agencies in the state at the Government House.

Okorocha noted that the state government is worried about the condition and location of the Prison, which is directly opposite the Government House.
